When do you need to update your routine?
The ideal routine doesn’t have a “look” necessarily. It becomes part of your life and you can plan/change as needed.
But when does a routine need some tweaking? Here are my 6 warning signs your “burn-out” may be routine related:
Not going to bed at the same/similar time each night
Waking up feeling extremely tired and craving more sleep
Living off of caffeine/stimulants consistently without breaks
Not finding joy in your job, relationships, family, etc.
Putting your health/fitness on the back burner
Constantly scrolling social media and feeling more fatigued than refreshed
The good news is, YOU CAN change your routine & see if that helps prevent fatigue/burn-out. Here’s how:
Alarm: Before you even think about going to bed, set an alarm for the next day. This does 2 things: reminds you that you are staying up instead of focusing on your sleep and gives you something to check off when you wake up and do not press snooze. This will already start your day off on the right note
2. Limit Food Before Bed: Before you go to bed, limit food at least 1-2 hours. Eating too close to your bed-time can cause your heart rate variability to be negatively impacted due to food being digested
3. Set timers for Social: Did you know that you can set timers for social media to prevent “doomscrolling”? This can really help you stay in the present moment for yourself and loved ones. I highly recommend this one!
4. Limit caffeine past 12:00pm: Still wanting coffee? I recommend doing de-caffeinated if possible! Also, Redcon1 Supplements has a wonderful non-stimulant pre-workout option for evening/night workouts: https://redcon1.com/products/total-war-pump?_pos=2&_psq=pump&_ss=e&_v=1.0 .
